O evento, que incluiu uma mesa redonda com v\u00e1rios l\u00edderes, foi co-organizado e moderado por Amanda Ellis, diretora s\u00eanior da Arizona State University e ex-embaixadora da Nova Zel\u00e2ndia na ONU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ap\u00f3s um trecho do filme, Ellis perguntou ao Cardeal Fridolin Ambongo, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcebispo de Kinshasa, Rep\u00fablica Democr\u00e1tica do Congo,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> qual ele entende ser o papel da Igreja na crise planet\u00e1ria. O cardeal Ambongo respondeu que \u201ca Igreja desempenha um papel no reconhecimento do sofrimento da Terra. \u00c9 um papel prof\u00e9tico e n\u00e3o t\u00e9cnico quando se trata de cuidar da Terra. Alex Rafalowicz, Diretor do Tratado de N\u00e3o Prolifera\u00e7\u00e3o de Combust\u00edveis F\u00f3sseis, observou que \u201cse quisermos enfrentar a crise clim\u00e1tica [\u2026] precisamos garantir que os pa\u00edses que causaram os maiores danos sejam os primeiros a agir para mitigar o problema\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Questionado sobre como a Laudato Si\u2019 faz um apelo moral a \u201ctodas as pessoas de boa vontade\u201d para agirem em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 crise clim\u00e1tica, Yeb Sa\u00f1o, membro do Conselho do Movimento Laudato Si\u2019 e diretor executivo do Greenpeace no Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico sugeriu que \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">existem<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aqueles que estar\u00e3o do lado certo e do lado errado da hist\u00f3ria\u201d quando se trata de conversas e decis\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De fato, Sa\u00f1o enfatizou que a mensagem do Papa no filme e na enc\u00edclica n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas para os cat\u00f3licos, mas tamb\u00e9m para todas as pessoas que desejam estar seguras e livres do medo e da mis\u00e9ria.
