O filme tem uma mensagem prof\u00e9tica. Seis protagonistas de todo o mundo se re\u00fanem para discutir o meio ambiente com o Papa Francisco \u2014 o protagonista Arouna, em particular, enfatiza as tr\u00e1gicas perdas causadas pelo aumento do n\u00edvel do mar e a migra\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica do Senegal para a Europa. O filme <\/span>A Carta: Uma Mensagem para a Nossa Terra<\/span><\/i><\/a>, <\/span><\/i>lan\u00e7ado em 2022, mostrou essas cenas na COP 27 no Palco de A\u00e7\u00e3o Clim\u00e1tica, no Hotel Tonino Lamborghini, em 17 de novembro de 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Para muitos, o filme foi um alerta para as injusti\u00e7as em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao meio ambiente. Para o moderador Prince Papa, Gerente de Programas para a \u00c1frica do Movimento Laudato Si\u2019, o apelo do filme era para seguirmos os passos de Arouna e perguntar: os africanos devem permanecer na \u00c1frica?<\/span><\/p>\n

Com o conhecimento acumulado em seu trabalho como Coordenador Nacional da Rede Ambiental de Jovens da Z\u00e2mbia, o palestrante Collins Lungu explicou que as injusti\u00e7as da migra\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica incluem a perda de biodiversidade em resposta \u00e0s necessidades de desenvolvimento na Z\u00e2mbia. Segundo Lungu, \u201cna \u00faltima colheita, vimos uma migra\u00e7\u00e3o de insetos [\u2026] vimos centenas de hectares sendo destru\u00eddos por gafanhotos\u201d e, como resultado, \u201cestamos vendo mais gente invadindo as reservas florestais\u201d \u00e0s custas das comunidades de animais que vivem nessas terras.<\/span><\/p>\n

Essa persist\u00eancia da migra\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica for\u00e7ada impressionou Innocent Odongo, Secret\u00e1rio-Geral para Jovens Estudantes Cat\u00f3licos. Odongo compartilhou suas impress\u00f5es sobre a experi\u00eancia de crescer em Uganda: \u201cAcho que, me colocando no lugar de Arouna, […] vivi uma situa\u00e7\u00e3o semelhante fazendo um percurso de 10 quil\u00f4metros a cada manh\u00e3 para buscar \u00e1gua\u2026 Se colocar isso na perspectiva da pobreza [\u2026] [a mudan\u00e7a clim\u00e1tica] os deixa [os jovens] sem op\u00e7\u00e3o\u2026 Ou voc\u00ea vai para Barcelona ou morre.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Para Lungu, parte do motivo pelo qual o filme e o evento da COP 27 s\u00e3o t\u00e3o atraentes \u00e9 que oferecem um palanque para a esperan\u00e7a: \u201cQuero falar como uma voz de esperan\u00e7a porque muitos jovens africanos est\u00e3o desesperados. Mas h\u00e1 jovens dispostos a fazer muito.\u201d Ele enfatizou: \u201cA \u00fanica coisa que falta \u00e9 o financiamento que estamos exigindo aqui na COP 27\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
